Fire dogs, or andirons, are among the oldest fireplace objects there are, lifting the logs so air can reach the fire from below. The Cooper series by Charles Kalpakian and the Odo fire dogs bring this ancient tool into the present, in solid steel that will outlive the chimney it serves.
