How we make

Eldvarm production, hand-stitching leather

Every Eldvarm piece begins with a choice of materials. We work with wood, metal, leather and natural fibres, selecting each one for how it performs, how it ages and how honestly it is made.

We produce in small batches with boutique workshops across Europe, much of it by hand. This is not a romantic notion, it is a practical one. Small scale production means we can maintain quality, reduce waste and build real relationships with the people who make our things.

Sustainability, for us, works in two directions: the impact our products have on the environment, and the impact the environment has on our products. A piece that lasts twenty years is more sustainable than one made from recycled materials that falls apart in two. Durability is not a bonus. It is the point.

Natural materials change over time. Leather darkens, wood develops patina, brass warms. We think this is a feature, not a flaw.
