After much anticipation we are delighted to welcome the latest addition to our collection, Cooper Fire Dogs. Having established our signature range of fireplace accessories as a firm favourite among those looking for elegant and practical tools, we felt it was time to broaden our offering.
“Over the years, our clients have often asked if we made fire dogs as they searched to fulfil all their fireplace needs. We are thrilled to say that the Eldvarm fire dogs are finally here,” says Louise Varre, Eldvarm’s Founder & CEO.
Celebrated designer and friend of Eldvarm, Charles Kalpakian, was called upon to thoughtfully reinterpret the classic vintage cast iron andirons. The result is a piece of elemental and functional design, with a strong focus on material elegance.
Eldvarm’s Cooper Fire Dogs single line profile offers a modern and minimalist design. Their lightweight yet stable build, coupled with a touch of playfulness immediately made us think of Dachshunds. Ever since, we’ve considered Cooper as your fireplace’s best friend, the perfect companion to keep your fire safe. As a nod to man’s best friend, we even named our fire dogs after the actor Gary Cooper who was known for his love of Dachshunds.
Kalpakian, pictured here with Louise Varre, says that his work is about “blurring the lines between an industrial design piece and a sculptural masterpiece.”
Cooper fits right into this ethos. The sleek linearity of these fire dogs coupled with their firm stability are sure to carry your logs through warm and cosy winters around the fire.
The Cooper Fire Dogs are available in two sizes. The smaller size (30cm) is more suitable for city fireplaces while the larger (45cm) option is perfect for deeper fireplaces in the country. We offer Cooper in two colours, either Noir (charcoal black) or Lumière (stainless steel), both with Eldvarm’s signature brass detailing for a touch of added elegance.
